Is your practice feeling stuck. In this long summer of 2020, the answer is “yes” for most of us.  Liver qi stagnation is all around us. Our clients have it, we have it, even our clinics have it.

These current times require qi moving solutions.

Many clinic owners I’ve been talking with lately are struggling to get the clients back in the door. They are challenged and overwhelmed with the new cleaning procedures, clinic flow, client retention. Those who are thriving are getting out in front of the problem and taking the bull by the horns.  This isn’t the time to just stand on the sidelines, it’s the time to bring fresh life into your clinic, enable new systems and policies and reach out to your clients in a BIG way.  Try one of these strategies or perhaps just reading this will spark some creative qi moving strategies for your own situation.

1. Change things around. Change something   :  Your decor, your hours, your treatment locations, or your systems.  For many months, I had all my linens stuffed in a closet and all my waiting room chairs in a pile.  It felt really disorganized for many weeks and I didn’t even realize how this was affecting my energy.  I took the furniture and linens home, I put a new fountain and more plants in the entry. I hung up new art that was lighter and brighter.  This small effort made a huge change in how the clinic felt when I walked in.  I know the clients also appreciated the calm and uncluttered feeling upon entry. Don’t underestimate how this can really move and free up the energy in your clinic.  Many practitioners are offering curbside sessions, working different shifts, or offering new treatment types.  Find something you can change in your business.

2.  Reach out more formally to your clients.  CALL THEM.  You can send out emails all day long, but often clients don’t read them.  I was amazed to hear how many of my clients didn’t know I was open.  Many assumed I was still closed even now in mid-July.  I made client lists for my receptionist and had her call them and ask how they were doing, tell them our new procedures, and invite them back into the clinic. The schedule is full now and the clients are thrilled to be back in for treatment.  If you need virtual reception help… call us! Our receptionists make outbound calls as well as answer all your incoming ones. It’s crucial to stay connected and to answer your phones. Communication is more important than ever before.

3. Set new goals. This is a great time to re-evaluate your goals as a business owner.  Consider listing your goals for 3 months, 1 year, and 5 years.  This is so helpful to get your energy moving.  It will unlock you in more ways than you can imagine. So simple yet very valuable. Read this article about goal-setting.

4. Get a mentor.  Reach out to us if you’d like to throw some ideas around.  An introductory call costs you nothing and might help you spark some new ideas for our practice. You can also purchase a half hour or hour long session to dig into the ins and outs of your specific business situation.

5.  Enable online payments and new systems for efficiency. Set up systems that allow clients to pay when they book and to leave credit card on file for easier transactions. This frees up so much of your time and ensures payment at time of service.  It also helps you keep track of your receivables.   It’s worth the fees that come along with it. This is a great time to make that shift and tighten up your payment policies. There are many other things you can do to automate your practice. Check out these resources for some ideas.

6. Set up online booking.  Janeapp is our favorite. It makes your life easier in so many ways. It has Telehealth, COVID surveys, reminders, payments, and so many awesome features that you’ll love. Jane keeps getting better and better as she grows.  * If setting us these things overwhelms you…. call us. We help clinics implement systems all the time. You don’t have to do this all by yourself. We can help .

These are just a handful of ideas to light a spark.  Hopefully it spreads the qi a little so that you can take over from here.
